BA (Hons) Mass Communication course covers the study and investigation of mass media like magazines, newspapers, cinema films, television, radio etc. to deliver information and learning ways and techniques to gather and distribute the news and to develop awareness through print and electronic media.

This degree opens up employment opportunities fields like films, TV, public relations, publishing, journalism, direction, editing, filmmaking, production, scriptwriting, advertising, etc. The Career opportunities is high paying, with high job satisfaction and creativity. 

The future will be as Presenter, Columnist, News Analyst, Proof Reader, Reporter, Screenwriter, Public Relations Officer, Staff or Freelance Writer, TV Correspondent, Video Jockey (VJ), Correspondent Editor, Special Correspondent, Journalist etc. The salary package will be high, depending on the candidate’s skills and experience.

Students study significant areas of Mass Communications like Reporting and Writing for Print Media, Photography, Feature writing, Advertising and Public Relations, New Media, Event Management, Graphic Design, Anchoring, Electronic Media Production, Radio, Media Law, Media Management and Research etc. 

The Course deals with the teaching, instructing and photographing with respect to reporting, editing, writing, etc. The candidate developes lateral thinking employed intelligently in creating communications. It develops curiosity, personality, an aptitude and ability for presenting information in a precise and accurate, effective and concise manner, teaches to organize concepts and communicate both orally and in writing. 

Objective

B.A. (Hons.) Mass Communication programme aims at developing among students a sound theoretical understanding of the subject along with practical applications. The idea is not to instill interest in any one particular area of research or cater to the requirements of a particular kind of job. Studying economics today opens up several possibilities for the future, and the idea is to guide students select their own trajectory in career advancement
